Le Corbusier wrote… “Architecture is the masterly, correct, and magnificent play of masses brought together in light. Our eyes are made to see forms in in light: light and shade reveal these forms.”

You would have to say that the rooftop of his apartment block in Marseille is a pretty good example of what he was talking about.
